Yes, I am convinced that it is worth taking advantage of this convenience in practice and I strongly encourage it.
The black agrotextile has practically only advantages:😊
- – no weeding – the black agrotextile is impenetrable for weeds (strawberries do not need to be weeded),
- thanks to the fact that the fabric is black, the soil underneath it warms up faster, and strawberries start their vegetation earlier, as well as begin to bear fruit earlier,
- the black agrotextile easily allows water from rainfall or a hose to pass through and reduces its evaporation from the soil – under the fabric, the soil retains moisture longer, while the plants experience greater thermal and humidity comfort,
- strawberry fruits 🍓 are never sandy, they can be eaten without washing.
Making holes before planting strawberries might be a bit troublesome, however, it is worth the effort (instead of holes, we can make cuts in the shape of an X).
