While planting strawberries🌱🍓, it occasionally happens, though not often, that the quality of the fruits we harvest does not impress. Why is this the case?
Well, strawberries do not have extraordinary requirements; they only need sunlight, a suitable amount of water and air in the soil, as well as the right content of components, which we usually provide with fertilizers. If we ensure this, which is not difficult, then growing these plants cannot fail, and the fruits will be healthy, colored, and tasty.😀
The sour taste of the fruits is most often caused by a lack of sunlight (strawberries should not be planted in shady places). Moreover, too strong fertilization with nitrogen, excessive densification of plants as well as improper pH (should be in the range of 5.5 to 6.0) also does not favor the accumulation of sugars in the fruits.😊
Why are the fruits sometimes small or hard? Such a situation can occur in conditions of water shortage during the growth and ripening period of strawberries, as well as with too dense planting and strong weed infestation of the crop.
Let’s try to provide our strawberries with conditions as close to optimal as possible, and we will certainly not have such problems.🙂
