Fresh black currant has a high content of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and flavonoids, including anthocyanins, which are necessary in the prevention of cancer.
  •  Fruiting: The fruits are sweet, greenish on the inside with a slight pink tinge. They store well and are suitable for preserves and eating alone.
  •  Planting and care:
    – the shrub will adapt to any conditions, but it does not like heavy and wet soils
    – plant in a sunny location, sheltered from the wind
    – prefers organic fertilizers
  •  Pruning: black currant should be pruned from November to March, removing shoots older than 5 years as their fruiting will stop.
  •  Condition: one  bare root plant, ready to be planted
